SimilaritiesEither dark or light colours for the background that makes the writing stand out well. There is also a big picture on at least one side of the double page spread. All of the people in the photos have blank faces or only slight smiles which reflects the indie genre which is simple and fairly serious whilst also being about the artist's own style. The arms crossed or hands in pockets pose is rather casual which again reflects the independent genre. The bold titles in a larger font stand out against the smaller font of the article writing. The writing is also in neat columns so that it is easy to read. Most of the band pictures are also mid-shots. DifferencesThe pictures of the band members tend to be in different places on the pages, some are on the left, some in the right etc. the layout of the columns is also quite different in each of the spreads as some of them are close together on one page of the spread whereas others are on both sides in the middle. The colour schemes also different in some minuscule ways as in some of them, the vaccines on in particular, there is an element of blue added into the spread which makes it visceral and catches the audience's attention, possibly even more than the others. Codes and Conventions of an Indie Double Page SpreadFrom this analysis, my double page spread will have:
- either a dark or light background - a big picture of the band - blank faces - mid-shots - Crossed arms/ Hands in pockets - Larger Font for Titles - Neat columns
