- Photo shoot 2
- Contents Page Analysis - Technology Post WORD- I used this for things such as the risk assessments and location recces.
INDESIGN- I used this for the indesign tutorial and for making the final double page spread and the contents page of the college magazine. PAINT.NET- This was used to make some of the things I did at home before I bought Photoshop. PHOTOSHOP- I used this to do most of the editing involved and to actually make each one of my magazines as well as the film poster editing practices. POWERPOINT- I will use this for the evaluation PREZI- I used this for the target audience research, It also has interviews and interview questions in it. SLIDESHARE- I used this for some of the analysis of actual front covers etc. WEEBLY- I used this for pretty much everything and to put all of my work on. Noticeable Points - many pictures (4)
- Mag Title at top banner and issue number - 5 mini stories and a main story -Band name with info below - page numbers on the pictures Bad PicturesAll of these pictures were either too similar to those i chose or they did not go along with the ecodes and conventions of my magazine's genre. EG. smiling in photos Good PicturesThese pictures worked with my Indie genre and the ones that smiling does appear in look smug more than happy.
- Front Cover Layout Drafts
- Test Shots 2 - Test Shots 3 - Layout Draft Results The Winner! The one with the coverlines on the left (in the top right corner of the pictures in the post) was a clear winner with 12 votes, Therefore, i will be using this sort of layout for my magazine. I think that this is because this layout looks more professional and is like the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine which was the most popular in my audience research too so it would make sense that that sort of style was popular here too. Second Placethe first one (which I couldn't have used anyway because the picture was a long shpt instead of a mid- shot which is not used in magazines so wouldn't look realistic) got 3 votes in total (my step-mother shared it and got a 2 and a 1 vote) so was no-where near as popular as the second one despite being fairly similar. I think that people voted for number 2 instead of this one in general because number two is much more professional and is neat, making it easier to read. Third PlaceThe third one didn't get any votes. I think that this is because you cannot see much of the background and because the way that i have presented it makes it look as though it's not as professional as the other two.
My friends and i went to a place in Ashton called Portland Basin to do some exploring and to get some test shots for the new camera that my friend got for christmas which i might use for my final pictures on the magazine. My friend took some of these pictures to show me how to ue the camera and i took the rest both on the camera and on my phone in different places including: - Clayton Vale - Reddish Vale Country Park - Daisy Nook Country Park - Alton Towers Theme park - Portland Basin the pictures above are the ones that my friend Bradley took when showing me how to use the camera properly and how to get good angles. they may not be indie but they were still test shots forthe camera, a Nikon 3300D camera. Here are the pictures that i took both with Bradley's camera and my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge.
I took these pictures with my phone to test the quality of my rear phone camera and to make sure that I could take different types of shots. I was actually shooting for a short film that I am currently making. I think that these went well and it means that i now have the flexibility of using either the Canon 1000D camera or my own phone. This widens for my horizons for what I can use to take my final pictures. I used a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to take these pictures. It has a 16MP rear camera which is remarkably good for a phone camera and it makes my pictures look really professional, videos too!
These are my drafts for the layout of my final magazine. Number 3 however would not be suitable because it's not a mid shot so that is already ruled out. Number 1 and Number two will be put on my social media platforms and my friends, family and other followers will vote on the layout that they prefer. I will then take their opinions into account when i am making my final magazine!
